I've decided to forfeit the PreNoWriMo project for this month. I mean, it's mid-month, I haven't broken 5,000, and I'm way too distracted by kittens to bother catching up. I feel a little bad about this, as I've never not completed a NaNo project, but I think I'll live. And if I manage in November, it'll be all good. So that's all right.

And did I mention kittens? I mentioned kittens.

Awww! You got kittens? Do tell. Names, rank, serial numbers... Sorry. Names, sex (if you have that figured out - nudge nudge, that's a reference to "Stray"), ages. Are they related?

I remember when three of ours were kittens. One of them thinks she still is, but I have yet to meet a 14-pound kitten. See? That's her in the icon.

I'm pretty sure they're both boys, though I'll find out for sure soon enough. They are tentatively named Shawn (aka Bits, aka Trouble) and Guster (aka Kibbles, aka Double). They are brothers, somewhere between six and eight weeks old (I'm hedging on seven to eight), and a little over a pound and a half each.

They look like tiny, tiny versions of Hobbes! Or, anyway, one of them (the sprawler in the picture) does. The other one has the coloring, but has fur like you tuck him in a light socket. Extremely fluffy.

How's life in Panama? ♥ I'm keeping up with the blog, even though I'm not commenting -- honest!
