There was a Star Trek marathon on the SciFi channel today and my dad started watching it once the lacrosse game against John Hopkins and the University of Virginia finished (Virginia won, surprise surprise). Well, I'm not a Trekkie. I'm really not. But I'm tempted to become one.
Why, you ask? Well, it's actually quite simple.
I sat down with my dad and watched about half an episode of Star Trek before something occurred to me: Mister Spock reminds me of fanon Heero Yuy.
I brought this up to my brother David, who is a Trekkie but knows little if anything about Gundam Wing. He gave me a funny look and said: "Heero? Who's he? And what the heck is fanon?" I explained that Heero was from GW and that he acted much like Mister Spock, so he gave me another funny look and said: "Okay, then sure, I guess you're right."
Then I brought this up to my brother Andy, who is not a Trekkie but knows a lot about Gundam Wing. He gave me a look rather similar to David's and said: "Who's Mister Spock? Is he the one who thinks he's a doctor?" I explained to him that Mister Spock acted much like Heero, so he smiled like an idiot and said: "Wow, I guess Heero and Spock are a lot alike then! Maybe they're related!"
Ladies and gentlemen, another mystery of the universe has been solved. You can thank me later.
Oh... and happy Memorial Day for you American peeps. *shrugs*
