Time travel. Here it is. Told you I would bring this up again later. ^_^
For those who are truly interested, the notes I took in my Cosmic Concepts class today are in this live journal cut ( here. )
Basic summary: if you can get to a speed somewhere around light speed (but not at light speed, obviously, since that's impossible for objects with mass), time moves slower. This has been proven in various experiments and Einstein summed it up in this neat little equation: E=mc². So if time moves slower for you and is going at the same speed for everyone else, you can go into a space ship, fly to the star Vega and back at this super fast speed, and then come back to Earth. It would only take you thirteen years--or at least that's what it would feel like. Back on Earth, fifty-six years would have gone by! See? Instant time travel.
The catch? It's impossible to go backwards. Sorry guys, but I'm afraid pulling a Superman and flying the "wrong" way around the earth isn't going to make time go the other way.
On another note! Brad and I had sushi over at the Tokyo Steak House with
slyfox78 and some of her friends. And Tanaka-san. ^_^ It was shibby. Woot for Wasabi Bob! I love sushi. It makes me happy.
We got back and
mr_shat and I rushed over to Cumberland Hall to help draw and paint the third floor mural we volunteered to work on.
idontcare03 was there, too. It looks shibby so far; I'll take a picture and have put it up here once it's finished. ^_^
