*wriggle* I wanna play with Nicholas, because he's my new Person-Inside-My-Head-For-The-Time-Being. Boo to the lack of Internet in the dorms.

So I got a call from the computer shop today (correction: Joan took the call. I was in class). Apparently it was not my fan but the actual power supply that was going bad. ^.^ It was replaced. They also found some start-up errors, which, y'know, I already knew about and have every intention of fixing on my own. So I'll need to call them tomorrow, arrange for the picking-up-ness of the computer and the payment-ness, and assure them that I'm not totally inept and that I know how to fix start-up errors. -_-

...now, who can I weasle a ride out of? Not [livejournal.com profile] slyfox78, because her car is in Mud Lot and most likely buried under a few miles of snow. ^.^ Hmm. I'll have to do some sleuthing. Oh yes. ^__^

It snowed like whoa yesterday and we got our first real snow day of the semester. ^__^ Classes were also cancelled today, up until eleven o'clock, which worked well for me because I was supposed to have my history exam this morning. ^__^ The same thing happened last Thursday, so the exam was postponed to today and... Yeah. It all works.

In other news, the story I spoke of in my last entry was taken down. ^.^ When I saw it, there was only one comment on it. I am half-disappointed for its being taken down because I wanted to see what other people would say about it before I swooped in. Ah, well. At least this way I don't have to feel mean or anything after commenting. Thank you to everyone who threw in their two cents (and sometimes more) on the story in question. ^_^ I love being greeted by a very full inbox everytime I get online, oh yes I do!

We finally started talking about character in my writing class today, the lecture I've been wanting to hear for a long while now, and then I realized that I already knew most of the stuff he was talking about. T_T In order to really get to know a character, he or she has to practically live inside your head. You need to be thinking about them almost constantly. That's sort of how it works.

I'm ahead of the game. Go me. ^.^ (J-chan, Nicholas is currently trying to infiltrate my brain. I suppose that's a good thing, yes? Coby is feeling slightly stilted, but he can just go sit in the corner. He needs to learn a lesson or two anyway.)

Now, the dilemma. I need to start thinking of a very original character for class. He (for it will be a he; despite my obvious gender advantage, I have a horrible time writing women. They are far more complicated than guys) will have to take refuge in my brain and I will need to have him slightly-developed for next class. Unfortunately, that means he will need to push the Gravi boys, Coby, Makoto, Damien, Armand, Nicholas, and all the others aside, first. And I'll actually need to think of something not TOO off the wall for him.

Stupid brain. Get thinking. *tap tap*

Anyway, I have tea in my backpack and stuff to read for class tomorrow. Off I go! If I'm lucky, I'll be able to secure myself a computer in the lab this evening and will grace your online presenceseses once more. ^.^ Aren't you lucky?

Kidding, kidding... Jeez.

That settles it. None of you guys are allowed to post in your journals until I get internet back, you hear? Going through all those entries makes me eyes go *waaah*.

Okay, not true. But it does take quite a long time.

I got my computer back today! *dances* I'm pretty sure I mentioned this last time, but it was not the power supply fan dying but the actual power supply. That plus the installation fee cost me about eighty-three dollars and sixty cents -- not too bad. I've had car repairs that cost more than that. ^.^ Heck, I've probably been to the gas station and spent more than that. All in all, a good deal, I think. Yay!

There is still no Internet, as you may have guessed by my earlier complaint. However, I've already learned that the computer lab is most likely free after ten-thirty in the evening and during the main dinner hour, so it's not like I can't get online at all. Even if I couldn't, it wouldn't be that big a deal, y'know? Just because I'm addict of sorts doesn't mean I'd start getting withdrawal symptoms if I don't receive my fix. (Although, I seem to remember logging on to the net over my summer trip in the West Virginia library, simply so I could check up on things... Daaang.)

I made Samurai Champloo icons today. Not true. I made Samurai Champloo icons featuring Jin today. Tomorrow I will probably switch to either a different fandom or a different character. ^^ Maybe I'll be able to get Cowboy Bebop image shots... I have some ideas in mind for that, although I don't know if they'll work or not. We'll have to see, hm?

The Critical Writing about Literature essay was turned back to us last night, and I did pretty well. Idris (the professor) does not do number scores because he's weird, but he averaged mine at an A-/B+, which could be anywhere between an 88 and a 92. *shrug* All things considered, not too bad. I also turned in my Brit Lit paper this morning. Results are, of course, still pending.

In other news, I swear that Doctor Wiseman (my History of MD professor) cancels class more often than he has it. I received an email this morning saying that class was cancelled both today and Friday, but he'd get back to us on Monday. I think that we've, perhaps, met twice this month. And that's just plain awesome. Call it mean, but I'm really hoping my 9:30 class (World History) is cancelled tomorrow as well. We haven't met since the twenty-first of February, given snow days and the like. We were supposed to have an exam on the twenty-third, but it was delayed to the twenty-eighth, and that was delayed until tomorrow. Yay, snow! Since band has already been cancelled for tomorrow as it is, with any luck I will only have Creative Writing and Critical Literature. I think I could stand both Barkley and Idris for the chance to miss one more exam day. ^.^ Anyway, I really like Barkley and his class. Idris, though...! He's very nice, let me assure you. Very nice. But. He's. So. Boring. Granted, Doctor Prasad (Geography department) is far worse, but Idris is pretty bad.

...what was I talking about? Aw, whatever.

Much love to Melissa for driving me to the shop this afternoon and much love to [livejournal.com profile] dertodesengel for being super-awesome. Also much much love to [livejournal.com profile] slyfox78, who says she likes the chocolates I bought her. ^.^
