Joan: I don't see why we should have to pay for things we can steal...

I'd tell you all the context of this statement, but I find it ever so much more amusing when it's all alone. In the corner. By its own little self. Yes.

I offered Joan (and Kyle) my self-translated version of Gravitation Volume 12 last night, and I think they were both ready to kill me. Kyle was more amused than Joan, however. ^.^ See, the thing is... I need to learn to actually look at the text and not the pictures. So... I make up my own stories. (Unfortunately, in the newer mangas, this isn't so hard. -_- It looks like the illustrations to bad fanfic. And since I am wise in the ways of bad fanfic *coff*, making up a story to go along is not hard. It saddens me when I find out my bad stories are correct, however.)

I do this to all manga, for those who are wondering, not just the untranslated Gravitation manga. I bought I.N.V.U. a few weeks ago and started to flip through... and forgot to read the word bubbles, instead making up my own story in my head. (The only mangas I recently have not done this for are Desire and Wallflower.) Soon I won't bother actually reading manga, in favor of my own stories. And, after that, I will probably stop reading books, as I will look at the cover art, read the back, and make the rest up on my own.

Why yes, I do need to be euthanized. -_-

ACK! Laundry!

edit:

I just had a slight mental breakdown over the name "Yuki". OMG. Okay. Okay. Joan has been giggling at me and what she calls my "Lewis Black Moment" for five minutes. She's heard all this already. But. Oh yes. But.

(Heehe, butt.)

Okay. I was apparently in the mood to be an usually masochistic masochist, so I picked a Gurabiteshiyon.net author at random and proceeded to read their five-chapter story. I should have stopped after the first paragraph, but do I learn? No. No I don't. And my biggest thing with the story was how Eiri was referring to himself as Yuki. Which, okay, I'll admit, is kind of a normal occurrence. I can live with that. I can even feasibly make up a reason or two why he would do that. But. When Mika, Hiro, Tohma, Tatsuha, and the rest of the cast (aside from Shuichi) start calling him Yuki (with no -san or any other sort of honorific attached), There Is A Problem.

People. His. Name. Is. Eiri. Yes, his penname is Yuki Eiri, but his name is Uesugi Eiri. His family calls him Eiri. The people who don't call him Eiri consist of Shuichi (who was a pink-headed blobble to begin with and thus has an excuse), Suguru (who switches back and forth from Eiri-san to Yuki-san), Hiro (who refers to him as Yuki-san but who also has an excuse -- Shuichi), and his fans (who all call him Yuki-sensei or Yuki-sama). There may be other people who I can't think of right now (K? Sakano? Can't remember), but my main point is this. His name? Is EIRI.

Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri Eiri!!!

And thus ends another rant of The Ren.

edit two:

T_T [livejournal.com profile] kaliflwr has made me very much want to steal the "You and Me Song" by the Wannadies for my very own. Dammit. Why don't my music-ripping programs work while I'm at school?
kageotogi: (aren't I cute? [kageotogi])
...is apparently pregnant. *amused* I love it when my family sends me postcards with weird little messages on them. The card said (and I quote):

Tomorrow's the last day in Orlando. Glenelg did the usual (natch!). Dave's been sick the whole trip - naseous in the morning, okay by afternoon. We've decided it's morning sickness and are going to fund his college education with the money that will pour in once word gets out! Ha!

My mother can't spell the word 'nauseous', but that's okay. Kyle, how much would you pay my family if we let you dissect my little brother? *ebil* (Buy my family's love with offers of money and dissection! Go on, do it!) Also? The card has fish on it. Sort of. (It shows a scene from Disney's Island of Adventure... featuring the "One fish, two fish" ride. Close enough.) That, along with the fun message, earns it a place up on my wall of postcards (some of which are Joan's and will need to eventually be returned), valentines, and Gravi Backstage passes.

In other news, chapter six of "Bugged!" is really starting to piss me off. I would like to go back into my little and secluded world of original stories and rpg-age now, please. No one knows me there, and it's so much easier to go through life when no one expects you to do do/finish anything... ¬_¬

I should change my journal layout. Hm. Will get right on making a new background picture as soon as I have time.
