[livejournal.com profile] grandsummoner is taking a Creative Writing course, and at some point the class was asked to study the significance of Hemingway's famous six-word story:

For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

In short (no pun intended), the idea is to tell a full story in as few words as possible. In her latest entry, she asked people to reply with their own six-word stories, preferably ones that described them as people. Mine were:

Wanted: weary writer seeks finished product.

Oldest tree fails to weather storm.

January interrupted by warm summer winds.

Lovers. High tide. Two mothers mourn.


I think it's a good exercise, and I'm curious. If you have the time and inclination, post a story in six (or seven) words or less. It doesn't have to be about you -- just make a coherent story out of as little as possible.
