Blown away.

I've come to the conclusion that Tom's IQ must be almost double what mine is. Keep in mind that I'm not exactly the next Einstein or Newton (and thank goodness for that; Newton had no common sense or organization skills whatsoever), but I am a far cry from the average Joe Schmoe or George W.

Anyway, I was talking to Tom after Cosmic Concepts today and he was telling me about the English presentation he has to give this period. Apparently he'd done it all this morning, which is no big deal--that's what most of us do anyway. But while he'd been doing it, he came up with this postulate, in which he claims the human imagination and thought processes are significantly affected and even dictated by a person's emotional state. Which made sense, although I didn't necessarily agree with it at the time. So I asked him to explain it. And he did, using all sorts of things like the two-step theory from psychology, the various portions of the brain, and proof from various scientific journals and a real life example. And it made perfect sense to me and I had to agree that his theory sounded very plausible. And so the reason I say that Tom is a genius is that this is something I never ever would have thought of myself.

Okay, that sounds extremely self-centered. But please keep in mind that I've had my own IQ tested multiple times and I'm not exactly an idiot by any means. And it just really impressed me that he'd managed to come up with such a complex and seemingly correct theory.

Obviously, since it's a postulate, there's no way to prove that he's right. But day-um does it sound like it.

In other news, I finished part six of Banister last night and sent it to T-san for a quick edit (I have the best beta-reader in the world, honest I do). I'll start chapter seven tonight, I think.
