So, um, I took this meme back in... January, 2004-ish, and was looking for a different entry when I came across it. So, as late as it is...

THE FANFIC MEME

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about the same?
last year's answer: To tell the truth, I don't know. I set out with two goals: I would finish "Banister" and I would write a lemon. To my surprise, I did both.
This year: More, I think. I wrote lots of multi-parters in 2004, which I most certainly was not expecting, and whipped out some one-shots like my pen was on fire. So... more, yes.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last January?
last year's answer: Gravitation. Last year in 2003, I had never seen Gravitation and had no idea what it was. Even after I did finally see the show, I never thought I'd write a fic for it. And now look: I've written four of them!
This year: *snerk* Um. Tatsuha/Ryuichi, I suppose. It wasn't really a pairing that appealed to me, despite my love of Tatsuha, so I didn't really want to write it. And then brain-melting boredom set in and "Spin" came along... and yeah. Maybe Eiri/Tatsuha goes there, too, because the pairing appeals to me but I wasn't expecting to write it. ^.^

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
last year's answer: My favorite? Wow... Um... I guess that would be a tie between Caught Between the Banister (chapters six and seven particularly) and Giving In, my Gravitation lemon (also my first decent lemon, but we won't talk about that).
This year: Um... I really like Winter Roses, but I wrote that after the new year. So, my favourite fic of 2004, I suppose, was... Um... Well, I suppose I'd have to say I liked "Little Conversations".

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
last year's answer: Writing risks? Well, I did participate in NaNoWriMo, which taught me that extra-sweet lemon tea is good motivation/inspiration/liquid-crack, but that isn't really fandom related so it wouldn't count.
This year: Um... Setting my expectations too high means I'm going to force myself to meet them, and that's risk enough for me. I'd like to have a more laid-back approach to my writing this year, and pull away from both slash/yaoi and fanfiction in general.

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
last year's answer: Gods yes! I want to write more citrus-stuff (for all fandoms, not just Gravitation), a 1/5 GW story, some more things for Yu Yu Hakusho, finish "Forever" and "Until The Death", write a heart-wrenching romance, and somehow get Heero Yuy (and/or Yuki Eiri) into a nudist colony. I will also finish what I start and get back into beta-ing.
This year: ...well, since I met, I think, one of my goals for last year, I'm going to set my goals nice and low. This year, I want to finish Bugged. *grin* Since I'm already in the middle of the story, I think I can at least do that one!
