Creative Writing.

So. A lot of people know that I am a Creative Writing major and, as such, I take writing classes. This semester I am enrolled in Advanced Fiction Writing, which is only different from Creative Fiction Writing in that it involves prerequisites and only the occasional how-to class. These are workshop classes: a student brings in a story, shares it, and, on the next class day, we rip it to shreds.
Today was my turn.
It went pretty well. The comments were very good in that they were constructive and helpful and everything they're supposed to be etcetera and so forth. There are a few things I definitely need to work on, and I know this. Everyone praised my dialog, because I am, apparently, the Dialog Queen.
Moving on.
Today was also the first meeting of the Three A.M. Society -- our school's association/club for creative writers. We all met in the Loft and moved to the English Office over in Dunkle, where we proceeded to have a grand old time and discuss our plans for the semester. I enjoyed it very much and am extremely glad Tricia recommended it to me. After a while, Gerry LaFemina (the advisor/faculty administrator) bid us to nominate a president for the society, since it is supposed to be student run.
slyfox78, being her, nominated me. I, in turn, nominated Tricia, and she went on to nominate Justin. Justin won the presidency by a general consensus, which made me quite happy. Then Gerry pointed out that Justin only had one semester left so we also needed to have a vice-president. Aaaand most everyone looked at me. So, being a masochistic freak, I accepted the nomination.
Tonight's accomplishment: I became the vice-president of a club (about which I still know extremely little) on my first meeting. I am obviously tres awesome. (Which reminds me -- I have French homework to do.) In any case, that has been my day/night so far.
