So, yes. I have things to talk about (shocking, I know). Let's begin, shall we? ^.^ Since it's kind of long, I'll put everything behind cuts.

When we ate lunch on Wednesday, Joan, Melissa, Lauren, and I were discussing what we were going to do after college. Graduate school came up and we briefly talked about that. Then, yesterday in Advanced Fiction class, Mister Barkley started talking about the benefits of going to grad school. It was almost like a sign (or something corny like that). Anyway, I've been putting some thought into this since then and I think grad school might be a good idea; I'm in the process of doing my research and talking to the folks about it.

That wasn't the only wonderful thing to happen in Advanced Fiction yesterday, although, at the time, this didn't seem so wonderful. There's this girl in my class and she's... more than a little bit annoying. Very few people like her. She graduated back in May and apparently couldn't handle the real world or something, so she came back to school. She's loud and never shuts her mouth. Anyway, yesterday Joan came to class with me and the girl we don't like told Joan off for having workshopped her crap-story. When she finished the class went silent and then Mister Barkley went "Right. Moving on."

Joan was miffed by this... until we later learned that Barkley likes having Joan in the class -- and that he doesn't like the girl in question, either. It was great. ^__^

Moving on.

Last night was the gala for the Creative Writing Center. It was great. There were lots of readings, some funny stories and poems, and there was free food (squee). I looked like a waiter and it was great. After the gala, we went over to [livejournal.com profile] tknight85's place. We ordered some pizza, read really crappy scary stories, and had a lot of fun. There was some drinking (not on my part) and everyone had a blast.

Stuff happened. The day ended.

Today has also been pretty neat. Neo-European Lit was class as usual. Today was Career Day, too, so my French class was held in the Lane Center, where we listened to two speakers, both of which were Spanish majors. I considered this a waste of my time, to be honest; I'm an English major who went to a Foreign Language Expo for French class and listened to Spanish Majors talk. Mmhm. Useful.

Shakespeare was also a Career-Day extravaganza; it was held in the library and that was a little less useless, since it was English-oriented. One of the speakers was a paralegal and the other writes for the FBI -- fun! [livejournal.com profile] tir_synni and I also had little FMA battles; she kept flipping my key chain to the side with Ed's picture on it and I would flip it back to Roy's picture. She spent most of the time scribbling notes, which I got to read (squee!) and, at the end, told me I had to write a skeevy!Hohenheim fic, since I have an unnatural love for Hohenheim.

Joan is not here; that is sad.

Work was great today; I had a fun-ish appointment and then got to talk to Shannon, Miranda, and John (who briefly came in to visit). Then there was band, which was okay, I suppose. The pep band was canceled due to rain (yay!) and band was cut extremely short. ^__^

This weekend is still going to be busy; there's a lot of band stuff tomorrow, it being homecoming and all, and my parents are coming down. Yay parents! I also have a Shakespeare paper to start writing. Blech.

Okay. I think that's all the boring stuff. All that being said, I have stuff to do. It'll be interesting to see if any of it actually does get done! ^.^

For what it is worth, I think that you should go to grad school.

Do you? Maybe. I'll need to do some more research about it, of course.

It's too bad FSU doesn't have a grad program for writing, otherwise I would definitely come back here for it. *sigh*
