It's October! I love October, primarily because of Halloween, but also because it's one month before my favorite month of the year: November. November has always been my favorite month (I have an elementary school project to prove it, somewhere), so every day that inches closer to the glory month is really just all the better. Woo!

If I could mix the months of October and November together, I would call it Octember. Wouldn't you? I think that would be awesome, anyway. October is the month for Halloween and apple cider, November gets Thanksgiving and awesome wind chills... Really, Octember would make me a happy camper.

Speaking of Octember activities, registration for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) begins late this evening. If you're planning to take part, do sign up today or tomorrow -- that not only gets it out of the way (so you don't have to worry about it later) but also means you can peruse the forums, which sometimes are handy for developing ideas, throwing plots around, and just generally dicking around.

How's that for advertising? ^_~

I think that, in a bout of sleepless insanity, I agreed to take on some writing challenge thing over on Gurabite last night. Huh. Well, maybe I'll wind up doing that, though I think finishing some of my outstanding projects probably takes priority at this point. Not to mention planning for NaNoWriMo. Jebus, what a trouble.

Ah, [livejournal.com profile] kloos411 and I bought a PS2 at a pawn shop on Saturday. This means I can finally get around to getting my gamer on (such as it is; I'm still working on Final Fantasy VII. Laaaaame). Attention span? Pfft. I don't need no stinkin' attention span. This was after meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] domacatrix and various others on Friday night for the American Standard showing, and before heading over to [livejournal.com profile] slodkianiol's place for a miniature Octoberfest... and before getting to see [livejournal.com profile] whimper, [livejournal.com profile] domacatrix, and M. last night for dinner and football. Haha, football. ^_~

Anyway, it was a busy (and somewhat productive) weekend. So huzzah on that. Let's see if I can let that busy-and-productive bit carry over here at work, too. That might take a bit more doing.

Oh, it oscillates between good, boring, and hot. I'm homesick but I've met some pretty awesome fellow grad students and we're having a dinner party/ project meeting Wednesday that should be fun, what with the wine and beer.

That's good, bad, and semi-okay. ^_~ Are you going to come up for the Frostburg homecoming? If so, we should meet up at the game and have some good times catching up. I think it would be fun.

Wine and beer make everything better, clearly.

Are you taking part in NaNo (http://nanowrimo.org/) this year?

Pfft, I don't even know when homecoming is! lol But I will be in MD for a week in November which the Regent's Cup conviently takes place during (the 10th) so I'll be at that if you're up for another football game.
And, no, I'm not doing NaNo as I'm swamped with some much other crap. Gah, no one told me I'd have to actually do stuff for grad school!

Homecoming is the 20th, but if you can't make it that's fine. We'll meet up for Regents or something. ^_~

Haha. I think someone may have mentioned that grad school was all writing all the time, but no one told us we'd have to believe that...
