I'm totally going to Europe. For reals.

Laura and I finally got together to talk about our upcoming trip to Europe, and we booked flights. I know when I'm leaving, I know when I'm coming back, and we have a basic itinerary (which consisted of going into Google!Calendar and going "Okay, so we have to fly in here and spend the day, and then we'll spend the day here, then we'll fly to here..."). And I have e!tickets. And no money. Woo!
To celebrate our finalization-ish (we still have to look into hostels and the like), we and
kloos411 treated ourselves to a very swanky dinner over on the Avenue. And further proceeded to sap our wallets.
And then we turned off all our lights and electronics for an hour and baked cookies (doable, as we have a gas oven), because apparently there's some thing going on where you were supposed to do that. Anyway, baking by candlelight is harder than we thought it'd be, but also a lot of fun. K. serenaded everyone, and our upstairs neighbors kept walking by and peering in the windows as if to say "What are they doing? Why are they making cookies without any lights?"
It's been a good day.
Have a cookie. ♥

(As for me, I read a book outside, and when it got too dark I transferred to my room with a flashlight. Deathly Hallows memories!)

Date: 2008-03-30 02:55 pm (UTC)I'll be starting in Dublin, then flying to Cork for a few days, then flying back to Dublin, heading to Belfast, moving on to Gloucester and Edinburgh. Once I've painted both Ireland and Scotland red, I'll be moving to London, Bath, and Stonehenge (so I can feel like a tourist). After that, the only country left is France; our itinerary for that is pretty weak, but we'll be in Paris, Versailles, and Normandy for a while. After that, I fly back to Dublin and catch a flight home.
...in short? Ireland, Scotland, England, and France. There. That was much easier, wasn't it?

You may also be interested in that little town called Hay-on-Wye, which is the largest center for second hand books in Britain. :)
