I somehow came down with a cold late this week, and I am now completely uggerific. It's one of those times when all I want to do is curl up and go back to bed (...the fact that it's thirty-something degrees outside may also have something to do with it). I did go to bed early last night, though (eleven o'clock! That's early for me, guys!). Then I woke up with a headache. Fun times.

Enough about me and my diseases. On to the fun(ner) stuff.

You all have probably heard about it or seen it by now, but what do you think about the Gmail "Mail Goggles"? I think it's clever, but I hate the idea of having to solve math problems in order to send my email. I can barely do math when I'm sober, much less a few sheets to the wind. If it was a linguistic problem, well, that'd be different. "Please diagram this sentence." Rock on.

...actually, diagramming sentences is kind of hard, too. I disliked doing it back in junior high, and haven't really had the opportunity to do it since. Ah, well.

I've partaken in a few linguistic/grammatical/what-have-you feats lately. [livejournal.com profile] imayb1 gets tired of nagging everyone at GMM, so she asked me to post a writing tip, which, when I did it, wound up being more of a lecture on punctuation. Ah, well. I enjoyed it. ^^ What else matters?

Mrrr. [livejournal.com profile] photoash's story prompt is slowly turning into an EPIC TALE. I finished the part that was actually important, but then I got more ideas and now I'm continuing it and this is a bad thing, guys. Bad thing.

The Novel From Hell is being ignored indefinitely. At least until I feel less sick.

Urgh. I should drink my orange juice and finish getting ready for work. There's so, so, so much to do today...

Colds stink. Have some tea and feel better soon. :]

The "mail goggles" thing is funny. Oddly, as much as I hate math, this would not deter me from sending angry e-mails late at night because I become focused. I would simply pull up my computer's calculator and give it the answers it wanted, or I would retract the setting. A language problem would slow me down and give me time to reconsider, though. However, as you've pointed out, such a thing might be too much fun and friends would grow tired of spam-like e-mails just to say hi! Is it a bad thing to enjoy diagramming sentences?

Danke! I'll do my bestest.

I'd love spam email like that. I may not reply to much of it, but I'd still think it would be great. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the diagramming of sentenceseseses.
