Mmm... Korean food is goooood...
Jan. 23rd, 2003 08:38 pmI tried honest Asian food for the first time today. Take-out Chinese technically doesn't count, y'know? Those white cartons... Eating with forks... Doesn't work for me.
Nah, today after we finished the daily dose of midterms *blech* we (me, Amie, Brenna) took Becca out to eat for her birthday. We went to a Korean/Japanese restaurant out in Ellicot City and had a fantastic time--we got there half an hour before the place even opened, so we sat around playing with cards and trying to decide what the best way to jump out of moving trains would be and the most efficient way for young women to urinate in the woods. These thoughts did not just randomly occur to us on our own, however--the cards did it, I swear.
I can't remember what kind of card deck it was, but they asked questions like that and we had to figure out the answer... Some funny stuff.
Anywho, we ordered at around eleven. Becca got some thing I can't remember (Babgool? Golbab? It had g's and b's in it) and Brenna got the same thing with chicken instead of beef. Amie got a seafood assortment, which consisted of exactly what it said--assorted seafood--and a salad, sushi, and rice. She refused to eat her sushi, so Brenna and I split it. Wasn't all bad. ^_^ Um... I got something I can't pronounce, but it was basically white rice covered with seafood, veggies, and some kind of hot sauce. It was very good--even the octopus and squid. The octopus was kind of chewy, but the squid tasted really good if you kind of added some more of the sauce...
Righto. ^_^
We all had barley tea, which was okay but left a weird after taste.
Um... We finished eating around quarter after 12 and waited a whole hour for our bill--our table was tucked away in a back room in a corner (smart people--we got pretty loud at some points, arguing about moving trains) and no one else was anywhere near us, so we can't really blame them...
The total bill, all of our meals put together, came to about forty-seven dollars. It was a decent price for a good meal, but I didn't like waiting so long for the bill. *shrug*
Also, on a side note or two, I started a YYH songfic to "Smile," just because I had the song lying around and didn't feel like studying for tomorrow's Astronomy/Band midterms.
One last thing: I hate George Bush. Why can't someone just assassinate him and get it over with? Gods... How stupid can one man be?
