So.
imayb1 posted pictures of her desk and her husband's desk over in her livejournal, and
slyfox78 and myself decided it looked like fun. So we borrowed
frankies_fcuk's camera and... got at little carried away! Joan's pictures of her side of the room are over in her journal, I'm sure, but here are mine.
The Door

Joan took this picture. As you walk to our room from the downstairs lobby, you go up the stairs, down the hall for a bit, open a door, go down another, shorter hallway... and find the door. Joan drew up the names on the message board because she has artistic talent. She also took the picture; I spied on her from the other side of the door, in the room. She decided it would be a good idea to blind me with the flash. Rawr.
The TV

Yup, that's our television. Well, Joan's television. Also her dresser. (My dresser is under my bed, and it has No Clothes In It Whatsoever, because I prefer to pack everything into my closet.) In this picture, you can also see my Bitch Alarm, our collection of food (mostly tea), and other assorted things.
Closet Doors

These are our closets! Joan's has all the coats and such draped over it and mine has a mirror and a bunch of picture taped to it. In between the doors are some of my collected postcards and such... and my Gravitation Passes. I took this picture while sitting on my bed, so the picture caught the tops of my computer and desklamp.
My Desk

I couldn't get the shot I wanted with this picture, so I had to actually walk into my closet and take it from there. Joan lay on the floor, propping the door open. XD Um... My computer is easily the most visible thing on my desk, along with my fishtank (over on the right) and my assorted desk items. I have a bunch of crap stored under my desk -- including my computer tower, my scanner/printer, and my trashcan. I can't fit my chair under there, so it pretty much stays on the side, as you may be able to see in the picture.
Desk Close-up

Zap is currently being medicated for fin rot, so he's in a little Chinese soup container, right in front of the lamp. Over on the very right are my fish-mouse, the empty fish tank, and a paper bowl with a treat from Mitomo-sensei in it. Um... I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it's a little mochi bowl-thing with sugar inside. Apparently the sugar is to be boiled and stirred and it's supposed to be really good. ^.^ Um... I keep lots of stuff stored in my lamp, including pens, assorted jewelry (bracelets and rings, mostly), and extra chapstick. There's a post-it note on my computer monitor, as you may have noticed, but I refuse to tell you guys what's written on it. (Not true. Actually, I'm really bad with numbers and, as I've said before, I'm a feedback whore. I tally the reviews I get over on Gurabite so that I won't miss anything constructive... or potentially ego-boosting.) Over on the veeeeery left is my tea mug, which I bought from the school store. It's empty, I'm afraid. *sad* Oh, also? Those of you who are very observant may have noticed my Buddha (kept below the computer monitor and behind the keyboard) and the fact that my lamp's lightbulb is blue. I'm getting to that next.
The Bulb

Ta-da! My fish lightbulb. I got it for my birthday from
chromaticism, who rocks. The light isn't very strong, but that's all right because I don't use the lamp very often. Plus, it's better than the previous lightbulb, which would light the entire room better than the overhead light ever could.
Getting on with the tour... I bring you:
The Bed (and Me)

Joan complained when I refused to have my picture taken, so we made a bit of a deal. There's me, sitting on my bed... With my awesome pillows of various use, my FSU blanket (hidden behind the sun pillow), and my bear, Fisher, who is conveniently covering my face. Above the bed, on the right, is my number organizer. It's technically a calendar, which I never use, but I utilize the wipe board and tack-board for phone numbers and various notes. I also keep my dream catcher up there. Above the bed, front and center, are some examples of my Japanese calligraphy (which, I'll admit, is pretty sucktacular), the Noriko picture that
fish_follower drew for me a while back, and my band certificate, in which I'm praised for being snippy at the Drum Major (who continually got on my nerves). And, of course, there's me. But that's not the important part of the picture. Not at all.
Well, that's where this tour ends! Hope everyone enjoyed it.

Date: 2005-02-11 02:11 pm (UTC)I heart my computer and my fish-mouse. *snurgle* I have fish stickers all over my computer (is that sad?) and my fish-mouse still needs a name. *frowny* I was going to name it Harold, but that's the name of Joan's space-monkey. So naming the fish-mouse has been put on hold.
